Morning sunlight

I love the morning sunlight during Springtime in my studio.
After Hobby-X I took most of the flowers home and put them on my studio table.
The next morning... (still very tired) this image greeted me.
I sat there for a few minutes and just took in all the colours.
It is very therapeutic.

The two flower broaches that Lucinda and Elizma wore at
Hobby-X were so popular.
So I have been making broaches in all shapes and sizes.

Daffodils for Women's day.

Thank you to Heleen ten Napel and her team for hosting this event.
We all had great fun and all your Daffodils are so pretty!

Now all of you have a long lasting prettiness that doesn't need any watering.
Thanks again for all the friendly faces and smiles.

Birthday Peonies

This bouquet took me longer than I anticipated.
Maybe it is because I am still learning.
At first I had the leaves single, but then realized they were to flimsy,
so I made them double. Then I wanted to add the buds....

In the end I was happy...
and my friend liked her gift.
Now for the next project, maybe some colourful Poppies.

Tulips for winter

So many of my friends have birthdays in July, I think there is 12 of them!
So I started these tulips over the weekend and finished them today.
One down and about 6 to go...

My fingers are a bit dry and cracked, but I had lots of fun.

I always learn something new with every project.
and I can see my improvement.

I found these small metal containers
at our local craft shop.
They are perfect for the job.

Renunculus and Anemone

For now I have packed away the paints and brushes
but I kept the crepe paper and the scissors. Working on tutorials
for the crepe paper flowers takes time but it is rewarding.
When you create a new flower, even from a template, flower number three
is the better one. So I say that you don't need to worry if the first two are not perfect,
you learn by making and creating.
Keep record of what you learn.

We had a cold spell recently and I needed to make something
that reminded me of Spring. So I made some bulbs.

This small bouquet that fits into a teacup was a gift for my mother.

Crepe Paper Magnolias

For these two Magnolia's I used two different templates.
It doesn't really matter, because they still look like Magnolias.

An extra bud and some leaves also make
them look more natural.

Then I had to ask a friend how to photograph the white
flowers. It is quite tricky, because the light keeps bouncing off
the white paper and surroundings. But a side light did the trick.

I am doing a faerie flower hat for the next issue of Creative Hobbies Magazine.
Every little girls dream for a flower princess party.
